The material is a mixture of faux leather and glitter material, so it is flexible and more like a grosgrain ribbon texture.
Each clip measures 1.5" and the hair clip used measures 1.3" approximately. The hair clips are not lined and they are serrated to ensure that they stay firmly to hair.
